The print shows the reconstructed circus with several different types of horse-racing in progress around the course, some with chariots, some without. In the centre of the race-track ("hippodromus") are altars to Apollo and Neptune, a tall obelisk dedicated to the sun and a small obelisk dedicated to the moon, and the statue of Isis seated on a lion that is mentioned in the lettering. Around the arena is the watercourse called Euripus in the lettering. On the right are the "carceres" (starting traps)
