    Provisional Knott's Improved Feeding I3ottle._ of the bottle when it is laid down without a cork being put into the supply hole. This bottle is peculiarly adapted for feeding infants and invalids, and may be made of glass, earthenware, or other suitable material. SPECIFICATION in pursuance of the conditions of the Letters Patent, filed 5 by the said James Knott in the Great Seal Patent Office on the 26th August 1858. TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, James Knott, of No. 63, Oakley Street, Lambeth, in the County of Surrey, Glass Manufacturer, send greeting. WHEREAS Her most Excellent Majesty Queen Victoria, by Her Letters Patent, bearing date the Twenty-seventh day of February, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty-eight, in the twenty-first year of Her reign, did, for Herself, Her heirs and successors, give and grant unto me, the said James Knott, Her special licence that I, the said James Knott, my executors, administrators, and assigns, or such others as I, the said James Knott, my executors, administrators, and assigns, should at anytime agree with, and no others, from time to time and at all times thereafter during the term therein expressed, should and lawfully might make, use, exercise, and vend, within the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, the Channel Islands, and Isle of Man, an Invention for “ Ax Im¬ proved Feeding Bottle,” upon the condition (amongst others) that I, the said James Knott, my executors or administrators, by an instrument in wiiting under my, or their, or one of their hands and seals, should particularly describe and ascertain the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same was to be performed, and cause the same to be filed in the Gieat Seal Patent Office within six calendar months next and immediately aftei the date of the said Letters Patent. 10 U 2( 21 NOW KNOW YE, that I, the said Janies Knott, do hereby declare the nature of my said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be per- % formed, to be particularly described and ascertained in and by the following statement (that is to say) :— I make my improved feeding bottle (which is suitable for either infants or invalids) of a peculiar shape or construction, with the hole or inlet at the upper ^ side, and near the end, by which arrangement it can be filled and laid aside
