    The heart was enlarged, and the aortic sound accentuated. There was general atony of the hollow viscera of the abdomen, and the second swallowing sound delayed to 30 seconds. The supposition first was that the patient probably had an aneurysm in the arch of . the aorta, although no physical signs suggested this. The diagnosis of the cause of the swallowing symptom was made and confirmed by a?-ray (Figs. 3 and 4).
