This sound recording purports to be a recording of George Eliot (Mary Anne Evan)'s voice; the 1/4" audio material has unknown provenance and came from the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine. It is not contemporaneous with recordings made in 1880. The recording has been captured using audio enhancement technology (CEDAR-processed).
