Notes

Publisher's advertising of other works of Cullen: p. [4]
In 1772, while the author had the chair of the Institutions of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, he published this outline of physiology as a text-book for his students. He divided his course into 3 parts: physiology, pathology, and therapeutics. Texts for the last 2 parts were never published. Cf. John Thomson. An account of the life, lectures, and writings of Cullen. Edinburgh, 1859, v. 1, p. 259, 432-433.
