Description
An inscription on one version of the painting (in the National Gallery, London) identifies the subject as the wedding of Isaac and Rebecca. Left, a stone bridge over a stream, from which a drover drives his cattle down to the stream to drink. In the background is a broad river with a weir, a mill, a town, and mountains in a landscape based on the Roman Campagna

After a painting in the opposite direction which exists in two versions, one in the Galleria Doria Pamphilj (Cecchi, op. cit. no. 181) and the other in the National Gallery, London (Cecchi, op. cit. no. 180), with many variations, e.g. the engraving omits eleven of the spectators on the right of the painting and the band of knights riding towards the bridge from the left of the painting
