Percy Malcolm John, student at Blenheim house, died suddenly at his school at Wimbledon on 3rd of December 1881; his brother-in-law Dr. George Henry Lamson was suspected of poisoning him with aconitine. Lamson was convicted of the murder on 14 March 1882, confessed his guilt on 27 April, and was executed on 28 April 1882
