Trade card advertising the Avery Lactate Company's 'Lactart' drink, "the new acid beverage and tonic" which was supposed to aid digestion, the aged and the infirm, be a remedy for dyspepsia, biliousness, nervous depression, insomnia, headache, all digestive disorders and prevent cholera, sunstroke, fevers, colds, coughs, croup, seasickness and was invaluable in urinary difficulties. The card has been overprinted in red with details of E.H. Davies & Co.'s pharmacy at 101 State Street, Rochester, New York. The front shows a rural scene of a milkmaid standing on stones on the edge of a stream with a pail on her head and six cows and a tree in a field behind her.
