Description

A patient, known only as Mrs C. aged 34, undergoes an operation to remove her uterus due to cervical cancer. The intertitles outline the anaesthetic given and also a radium dose to her cervix (not shown). Her abdomen is opened. The surgery is described in detail on the intertitles, then illustrated surgically. A colour diagram is shown indicating all the key points of the operation. The disguised patient is shown unconscious but looking well; 'patient a good colour at end of operation'. Her uterus is shown. Extraordinarily the patient, no longer disguised is shown 10 year's later in March 1949 looking fit and well.
