Description
Statuta vetera et nova sacri venerandique Collegii D.D. Philosophorum et Medicorum augustae Civitatis Taurini. Cum eorumdem Appendicibus et explanationibus. With some later additions. With 4 full-page illuminated miniatures, in gold and colours: Emblazoned arms of the 16 heads of the College (fol. 2); The Crucifixion: below the text of the College Oath (3); Emblazoned arms of Savoy (4); Emblazoned arms of the College (4v). On fol. 5 the title to the 'Prohemium' is within a historiated border, and there is an illuminated initial O. The text is in calligraphic italic script, with headings and capitals in gold. On fol. 35v, at the end of the main text, is the signature of Charles Emanuel II, Duke of Savoy [1634-1675]. Under the date 1665 on fol. 39v are the signatures of: Joannes Baptista Armanus, Prior: J. De Stephanis, Decanus: Ambrosius Fassettus [ -1683]: Joannes Marcus Defera: Jacobus Roncinus: Jacobus Francicus Arpinus [ -1684]: Joannes Jacobus Ghigus: Joannes Baptista Cizalettus, Consiliarius: Julius Torrinus, Consiliarius, Joannes Antonius Barberis, Consiliarius [ -1666]. Below these is the signature of 'Maglinus, Secretarius'. Ff. 40-55v contain a list headed 'Sequuntur nomina D.D. Doctorum Sacri Venerandique Collegi ... ab Anno ... MCCCCXXXX.' There are later additions, ending at 1708. This is followed by a further list (ff. 55v-56) from 1708 to 1718. The MS. seems to be a copy made for presentation. In the lower margin of fol. 5 'Federico Patella. MS. No. 87'. Produced in Turin.

1 volume 57 ll. (last bl.). folio. 301/2 × 20 cm. On vellum. Finely decorated gilt-stamped calf binding: metal and leather claps, one wanting. Title-page in blue, gold, and black: the title within an ornamental historiated panel.
