What you’ll do

Join artist Emma Smith and psychotherapist Katie Argent to explore psychoanalytical toys and drawings from the archives and consider how children use play to understand the world. Hear how Emma’s research formed the basis for a new exhibition ‘Wunderblock’ at the Freud Museum. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Emma Smith is a visual artist based in the UK and working internationally. She has a social practice and creates public platforms for experimentation, research and action through site-specific events and installations.

Katie Argent

Katie Argent is Head of Child Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She has a background in public-sector work in housing and homelessness, and has a special interest in the usefulness of psychoanalytic thinking outside the clinic and in school-based child psychotherapy approaches.
